1 Meet the Age Requirement

The minimum age requirement for pilot training must be 17 years old.

2 Academic Qualifications

You must have completed your 12th grade with Physics and Mathematics.

3 Budget for CPL Flying Training

The budget for a Commercial Pilot License (CPL) training is between 30 to 65 lakhs INR. Always plan finances properly before enrolling.

4 CPL Flight Training Duration

The average duration to complete CPL training is between 12 to 24 months. This can vary depending on the flight school and your progress.

5 DGCA Pilot Medicals

You must take DGCA Class 1 and Class 2 medical examinations and be certified medically fit. Your medical history plays a major role in your aviation career.

6 DGCA Computer Number Registration

Register and obtain a DGCA Computer Number. This unique number is required for DGCA exams and training records.

Join Getwings’ DGCA Ground Classes to master theoretical knowledge for DGCA exams. We also offer sessions in our in-house G-1000 C172 simulator to apply concepts practically.

8 Ace the DGCA Exams

DGCA exams cover subjects like Air Navigation, Aviation Meteorology, Air Regulations, Aircraft Technical General, Aircraft Technical Specific, and more. Prepare well and score high.

9 Complete Flight Training Abroad

Depending on your plan, complete your flight training abroad while adhering to DGCA requirements. This provides hands-on experience and required flying hours.

10 License Conversion

Convert your international pilot license into an Indian DGCA-recognized license. You may need around 8 flight hours and pass two DGCA exams if not completed earlier.

11 Type-Rating Certification

Get your type-rating certification to qualify you to operate specific aircraft types. This is a major milestone towards your airline career.

12 Airline Preparation

Transitioning to an airline career requires technical expertise, hours building, certifications (IR/ME), and strong interview preparation. Stay disciplined and keep learning continuously.

13 Join Indian Airlines
